Perennials’ Summer Collection – Introducing “Hot Off The Block” Wallcoverings & Rugs
Handcrafted inspiration meets layered texture in a new collection of immersive wallcoverings and rugs from Perennials
DALLAS, TX (May 2026) — Perennials introduces a new collection of wallcoverings and rugs rooted in the artistry of handcrafted printmaking and tactile design. Drawing inspiration from traditional block printing techniques, the collection explores layered texture, expressive mark-making, and the subtle irregularities that give handcrafted surfaces their warmth and character.
Spanning both wallcoverings and rugs, the collection reflects a continued exploration of immersive interiors – spaces where pattern, texture, and materiality work together to create depth and atmosphere. Throughout the collection, motifs emerge through layered ink effects, sculpted surfaces, tonal variation, and tactile finishes that evoke the visible imprint of the maker’s hand.
Inspired by the imperfect beauty of hand-blocked textiles and artisanal printmaking traditions, each design balances refined structure with organic movement. Layered textures, tonal variation, and tactile finishes create depth and dimension throughout the collection, while surface printing, embossing, and handcrafted weaving techniques preserve the visible character and artistry of the maker’s hand, reflecting an appreciation for slow design and crafted imperfection.
The collection introduces five new wallcovering patterns, expands several existing designs through fresh, new colorations, and debuts a new series of rugs that translate the collection’s layered visual language into richly textured interiors surfaces for inside the home.
WALLCOVERINGS:
Fine Vine
Surface Printed on Fibrous Non-Woven Paper | 3 Colors
Fine Vine is a block print–inspired wallcovering featuring two interlocking vine motifs arranged in a vertical repeat. The design captures the character of hand-carved printing through subtle irregularities and layered detailing that create a distinctly hand-pressed feel. The elongated composition lends rhythm and movement while maintaining a soft, organic sensibility.
Birds of a Feather
Digitally Printed on Cotton Textile Ground | 4 Colors
Birds of a Feather features a delicate composition of birds nestled among branching foliage, printed on a richly textured cotton-thread ground. Inspired by traditional block printing techniques, the design carries a distinctly handcrafted quality with soft impression shifts and tonal variation that echo the character of ink pressed into natural materials. The composition feels calm and cohesive, allowing the subtle artistry of the print and the dimensional texture of the substrate to take precedence.
Arigato
Gravure Type II Performance Vinyl | 3 Colors
Perennials has translated one of its best-selling patterns, Arigato, into a high-performance Type II wallcovering. Printed and embossed to preserve the texture and dimensionality of the original design, Arigato balances durability with a refined tactile finish.
Tiny Trellis
Surface Printed on Fibrous Non-Woven Paper | 3 Colors
Tiny Trellis features a delicate trellis-inspired pattern layered with varied floral motifs and subtle dotted detailing. The design combines structured geometry with softer botanical elements, creating a pattern that feels both tailored and organic.
Petal Pusher
Surface Printed on Fibrous Non-Woven Paper | 3 Colors
Petal Pusher features vertical trailing vines accented by alternating floral motifs. The linear arrangement lends a clean, elongated aesthetic while layered botanical detailing softens the composition with organic movement. Printed on a tactile non-woven ground with layered ink effects inspired by hand-blocked printing techniques, the design balances structure with softness.
Existing Pattern Expansions
The collection also introduces new colorways of existing Perennials wallcoverings:
Terrain
Sisal Wallcovering | 5 New Colors
Made from sustainable agave fibers, Terrain is a richly textured sisal wallcovering that blends organic materiality with modern sophistication. The introduction of five new colorways expands the design’s versatile, nature-inspired palette while highlighting the tactile beauty of the weave.
Cadence
Surface Printed Wallcovering | 2 New Colors
Inspired by one of Perennials’ best-selling fabrics, Cadence translates the dimensional character of the original textile into a surface-printed wallcovering. Produced using historic printing machines dating back more than a century, the design combines heritage craftsmanship with a fresh, textural sensibility.
RUGS:
Square One
Drop Stitch Construction | 3 Colors
Square One is a drop stitch rug featuring an alternating grid pattern layered with fine interior linework. The medium-scale block design brings a tailored, rhythmic aesthetic while varied surface detailing adds depth and texture throughout.
Mysteria
Tibetan Knot Construction | 2 Colors
Mysteria balances artistry with modern texture through an all-over high-low finishing technique that reveals block print–inspired lines across the surface. Sculpted texture shifts subtly with light and perspective, creating movement, depth, and dimension while maintaining the softness and artisanal character.
Fine Vine
Tibetan Knot Construction | 1 Color
Fine Vine translates the collection’s interlocking vine motif into a richly textured Tibetan knot rug. Offered in the saturated tone of Blackberry, the design features softly flowing vines that create a subtle border effect. A sculpted high-low finish adds dimensionality and visual contrast across the surface.
Circle Back
Tibetan Knot Construction | 2 Colors
Circle Back draws inspiration from the expressive character of hand-applied block stamping. Artistic circular motifs move throughout the design with varied ink-style applications ranging from full saturation to outlined impressions, creating a layered and painterly effect.
Breaking Grid
Tibetan Knot Construction | 1 Color
Breaking Grid is crafted using a loop pile Tibetan knot technique that emphasizes texture and tonal variation. A large-scale grid motif appears softened and subtly irregular, while shifts in pile height create movement and depth across the surface.
